Salesforce, StartupAUS partner to promote Australian startups

Salesforce announced a partnership with StartupAUS and the launch of a Salesforce for Startups program in Australia.

StartupAUS, founded in 2013, is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes startups and entrepreneurship in Australia with events, government lobbying and reports on the startup ecosystem. The Salesforce sponsorship comes as StartupAUS raises money and looks for a CEO.

Through the partnership and the Salesforce for Startups program, Australian startups will gain access to Salesforce products and be able to connect with the company’s executives at Salesforce events, the vendor said.

“Salesforce will also work closely with StartupAUS to encourage a positive and productive policy and regulatory environment for startups in Australia,” Salesforce said.

“Both Salesforce and StartupAUS are committed to supporting the local startup ecosystem to help drive a strong and prosperous Australian economy.”

StartupAUS board member Peter Bradd said the partnership with Salesforce will help drive his group’s message.

“Salesforce and StartupAUS believe a home-grown tech sector is vital to Australia’s economic future. But getting there will require a national imperative to create the right environment, with a supportive culture that empowers new entrepreneurs and provides future generations with the tech skills needed to succeed,” said Bradd.

“Salesforce is one of the original tech startup success stories. We are excited to have a global leader in the space on board as a partner of StartupAUS to join us in championing Australia’s vibrant startup ecosystem. ”

StartupAUS has also received sponsorships from Xero and Brisbane startup co-working space, River City Labs.
