Vodafone finishes rollout of 4G carrier aggregation

Vodafone this morning announced it had finished rolling out 850MHz-1800MHz carrier aggregation.
Vodafone announced in November that it was switching on what it calls 4G+ — LTE-Advanced carrier aggregation — in Melbourne.
Carrier aggregation is now available on Vodafone's mobile network in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
"With more than 50 per cent of Vodafone customers now using 4G, demand is huge and growing - 4G data consumption on our network more than doubled last year," Vodafone's CTO, Benoit Hanssen, said in a statement.
"More than 50 per cent of our data traffic is carried over 4G and through carrier aggregation we can provide those customers who have compatible devices with more reliable access to fast downloads and uploads."
Telstra has used "4GX" to describe its aggregation of spectrum in the 1800MHz and 700MHz bands.
