Superloop appoints CEO

Telecommunications infrastructure provider Superloop has appointed a new CEO, Daniel Abrahams.

Based in Brisbane, Abrahams takes over from Superloop founder Bevan Slattery who will remain as executive chairman.

“I am excited to join Superloop and have the opportunity to work with Bevan [Slattery], the team and our valued customers to accelerate the immense opportunities available to the company not only within Australia and Singapore but the broader Asia Pacific region as well,” he said in a statement.

Prior to joining the company, Abrahams was vice president and chief risk officer at Aurizon for three years.

Established in 2014, Superloop is an independent entity from network interconnection provider Megaport.

Superloop’s Australian network offers customers a dark fibre connection to a number of data centres including Equinix facilities in Sydney and Melbourne and NEXTDC data centres in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

The company also operates in Singapore. Its network is under construction and has been broken up into three phases to be completed by June 2015. These phases include approximately 130 kilometres of new fibre installation.
