Vocus strikes new deals with Optus, Telstra

Vocus has struck new wholesale deals with Optus and Telstra, the company announced today. The agreements are with the telcos are successors to arrangements M2 had that were due to expire later this year.

M2 and Vocus merged earlier this year.

The new three-year Optus agreement for wholesale mobile services follows an 11-year relationship with M2, the telco said. The current agreement expires in July 16.

The new agreement will be in place until 30 June 2019 and covers Vocus’ Commander, Dodo, iPrimus brands, all of which were inherited from M2.

“Partners need to continually adapt to the competitive landscape and to support them, we have focused on delivering billing, service and technology improvements resulting in increased efficiency, and supported their needs for more flexibility around customer pricing,” Optus Wholesale managing director Rob Parcell said in a statement.

The renewed deal follows a competitive tender process.

“We are pleased to have concluded this tender process and to be extending our long standing relationship with Optus,” Vocus CEO Geoff Horth said.

“We look forward to delivering growth in our mobile portfolio on the back of this new partnership.”

The new arrangements with Telstra will expire on 30 June 2019 and cover fixed voice and broadband services for Commander, Dodo and iPrimus.
