ANZ has extended its telecommunications and managed services agreement with Optus and Singtel through to 2020.
Optus announced in 2013 it had won a five-year, $530 million contract with the bank, following on from an initial 2009 agreement worth half a billion dollars.
“Our strategic relationship with ANZ continues to go from strength-to-strength and we are delighted with this significant contract milestone,” Optus Business MD John Paitaridis said in a statement.
“We are highly committed to continuing our innovative approach to supporting ANZ’s critical ICT requirements and business operations in Australia and across Asia.”
“We are very pleased with the ANZ contract renewal and look forward to continuing to leverage the Singtel Group’s scale, expertise and innovation to support ANZ’s business objectives in years to come,” said Singtel Group CEO Chua Sock Koong.
Optus Business last month announced it would roll out Wi-Fi to 81 shopping centres and six corporate sites under a $20 million deal struck with Vicinity Centres.
In early August Optus revealed an 11.9 per cent decline in its first quarter profit. The telco reported a Q1 net profit of $173 million, down from $196 million in the prior corresponding period.
