Yahoo Apps to Appear on Palms

FRAMINGHAM (03/23/2000) - Yahoo Inc. joined with Palm Inc. this week to bring Web-based services to the Palm family of handheld computers.

The announcement on Tuesday is the first time Yahoo has brought its Web-based services to handhelds.

Services including Yahoo Messenger and Yahoo Mail will appear on Palm computers sometime later this year, but Palm VII wireless users can download the e-mail function at www.palm.net or mobile.yahoo.com.

Some wireless modems from third-party vendors allow the Palm V to also function as a wireless device, so both the Palm V and VII can use Yahoo's instant messenger product.
