Microsoft Takes Stake in Storage Specialist

SAN FRANCISCO (05/17/2000) - Microsoft Corp. has made an unspecified investment in storage management software vendor CommVault Systems Inc., the companies announced today.

As part of the investment, Microsoft will assist CommVault in the continued development of applications for CommVault's Galaxy data management and storage management suite, the companies said in a statement issued today.

Microsoft is interested in promoting application integration and scalability in Galaxy for its Windows 2000 operating system, Brian Ball, Microsoft general manager for enterprise server products, said in today's statement.
