ICANN sees progress on revamped DNS

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) met in Sao Paolo this week and made progress on a project to expand domain names to more languages and alphabets.

Former HP chief Lew Platt dies

Lew Platt, who spent 33 years at Hewlett-Packard including seven at the helm, died Thursday night in California, according to a statements issued by The Boeing, where he served as a non-executive chairman after leaving HP. He was 64.

UPDATE: - IBM, Tech Giants Plan B2B Exchange

IBM yesterday confirmed that it is working on a global internet business-to-business (B2B) exchange called e2open.com, but a spokeswoman said that the company is not releasing any additional details, nor is it saying when the official announcement of the exchange will be made.
