  • Have the Motorola Xoom and Atrix flopped already?

    It's only been a few weeks since Motorola's top-of-the-range Android tablet and smartphone went on sale and analysts are asserting the Xoom and Atrix are duds. Motorola has not disclosed any sales numbers for its shiny new gadgets, but Pacific Crest analyst James Faucette told Forbes sales for the two Android devices "have been disappointing."

  • Nintendo 3DS sells 400,000 in Japan, already R4 hacked

    It looks like Nintendo's 3DS isn't having trouble finding buyers in Japan. According to Japanese newspaper Nihon Keizai Shimbun (via Andriasang) gamers essentially exhausted Nintendo's initial shipment of 400,000 units. The 3DS launched in Japan Saturday to reports of lines and pre-order sellouts.

  • PSN purchases won't transfer to Xperia Play phone

    Gamers with vast PlayStation Network software libraries won't catch a break if they opt to pick up Sony Ericsson's forthcoming Xperia Play when it ships in March. While the slide-bottom Android Phone plays PlayStation Suite-compatible games as well as PlayStation-original oldies, they'll only be available as new purchases from a separate Sony Ericsson online store.

  • Final Fantasy IV remake to appear on PSP

    Final Fantasy II was my first Final Fantasy. Back in 1991 when it was on the Super Nintendo and still called Final Fantasy II, anyway. Today it's Final Fantasy IV, because it was actually fourth in Japan. And for its 20th birthday bash, it's getting a "complete" treatment -- an updated and upgraded PSP version of the original and its recent sequel set to ship this spring.

  • Android 3.0 sneak peek: A screenshot preview

    The next version of Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) will feature a new holographic look, five customizable home screens, a Windows-style taskbar and tabbed browsing. Google released a platform preview of Android 3.0 to third-party developers on Wednesday so it could get busy prepping applications for the updated mobile OS. The search giant also released a series of screenshots showing what's new in Android 3.0 and what the new OS might look like on a tablet device.
