VDSL2 standards for NBN to clean up interference
With vectored VDSL2 broadband expected to play a key role in the Coalition’s multi-technology National Broadband Plan, the Communications Alliance has updated two related industry standards.
With vectored VDSL2 broadband expected to play a key role in the Coalition’s multi-technology National Broadband Plan, the Communications Alliance has updated two related industry standards.
Bell Labs, the research arm of networking company Alcatel-Lucent, has achieved broadband speeds of 10 gigabits per second over copper phone lines, setting a new record. The test demonstrates how existing copper networks can be used to deliver 1Gbps symmetrical broadband, according to Alcatel-Lucent.
Alcatel-Lucent has revealed NBN Co is one of the customers for its VDSL2 vectoring products used for fibre to the node (FTTN).
The Communications Alliance will help facilitate the rollout of a fibre-to-the-node (FTTN) National Broadband Network (NBN) by revising industry standards around VDSL2 and vectoring.
