09:25am AEDT 09:55am AEDT | Opening keynote presentation: The next 10 years in technology, humanity, commerce & business, work, jobs and society - what to expect and how to get ready featuring | Gerd Leonhard, Global Futurist, Humanist, Keynote Speaker, Author, film-maker Covid-19 is clearly a huge challenge for all of us but it is also a giant accelerator of change. Whatever was nascent before the pandemic has become really big now: big tech, big media, big health, big gov and (maybe) big green, Be it working from home, telehealth, buying everything online, learning in the cloud... it's now remote everything and the 'end of analog'. We are in the middle of a great transformation (and not only because of covid-19) which is certain to bring more change in the next 10 years than in the previous 100 years. And most of this could be very beneficial for us - if we use our powerful tools for the right purpose. We are going warp-drive into the future - gradually then suddenly - as technology will become almost infinitely powerful, and science fiction is increasingly becoming science fact. Soon, the question will no longer be if or how we can do something, but why we should (and who is 'mission-control'). Gerd believes that the future is better than we think and he will outline his key observations and foresights for the next decade in this talk, commenting on topics such as artificial intelligence, automation and the future of work, the technological megashifts such virtualisation, robotization, augmentation (AR/VR) and cognification, the coming human renaissance, how to deal with perpetual uncertainty and VUCA,and how to develop what he calls a 'future mindset'. The future is not something that just happens to us - it is something we create, every day, by action or by inaction.
09:55am AEDT 10:15am AEDT | Automation in the New Normal: The Next Phase of Distributed Work | Kelsey Nelson, Product Marketing Manager, Okta The rapid shift to remote, distributed workforces forced IT professionals to quickly support new/expanded ways of working. Now, many months later, IT is challenged - and seizing the opportunity - to lay a foundation for the IT stack of the future! One key area of opportunity? Automating time-intensive onboarding and offboarding processes. According to a recent survey of IT leaders, these manual efforts sap budgets and productivity, and increase your security gaps. In this session, we'll talk through how identity can help you to mitigate risk in a distributed work environment, help your technology teams be more efficient/effective, and reduce end user friction.
10:15am AEDT 10:35am AEDT | Case Study: Moving fast to eliminate COVID-19 | Shayne Hunter Deputy-Director General and Digital, Ministry of Health New Zealand has done what very few countries have achieved – successfully pursued a COVID-19 elimination strategy. There have been bumps along the way, and it’s not over yet, but key to the approach has been the use of technology to inform the public, ramp up testing and put in place a universal contact tracing system that is continually evolving. In this presentation, Shayne Hunter will outline his team’s approach with special emphasis on the lessons learned in the past eight months of the pandemic.

11:15am AEDT 11:55am AEDT | Panel Discussion: Leading during a crisis When the workforce disperses following lockdowns imposed due to COVID-19, the last people to leave the office are the IT workers. Their workload triples as they enable people to work from home, deal with a rise in cybercrimes, confront the sudden scarcity in laptops, and spin up new online capability for customers. What are the leadership lessons that IT leaders have faced this year, and how has the pandemic prompted them to reassess their approach to managing their teams?
