Optus has appointed former HP managing director, South Pacific, David Caspari, to head up the telco's ICT business. Caspari will be Optus vice-president of product and ICT and report to Optus Business' MD, John Paitaridis.
Caspari departed HP in September last year after being appointed to the MD role in May 2012.
Caspari "will be responsible for leading product and solution development of core telecommunications and ICT, as well as articulating the Optus ICT vision to customers and partners," Paitaridis said in a statement.
The telco also announced that it has appointed Jennie McLaughlin, the country director of Optus' application services arm NCS Australia, to the position of Optus vice-president for business applications and solutions, and former Alphawest CEO Ian Smith to the role of vice-president for managed services and delivery.
Last year Optus announced it had completed a business restructure that integrated Alphawest and NCS.
In addition to the appointments, the telco has revealed an updated product and services roadmap that includes the establishment of a Security Centre of Excellence, a 24/7 self-service portal for customers that will launch this year, and updates to its contact-centre-as-a-service and unified-communications-as-a-service offerings.
Optus also announced 'ThinkSpace': A new "collaboration centre" at the Optus campus in Sydney's Macquarie Park where the telco's staff will work with customers to develop business strategy.
