Telstra today announced that it has entered an agreement to acquire Melbourne-headquartered systems integrator Kloud.
Kloud specialises in helping enterprises transition to cloud services. The company has 150 employees in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide in Australia, and Manila in the Philippines.
It has more than 80 customers, a statement from Telstra said.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Kloud will enhance Telstra’s consulting-led capabilities by expanding our professional and managed services, complementing recent acquisitions such as NSC, O2 Networks and Bridgepoint,” said Telstra executive director, global enterprise and services, Michelle Bendschneider.
Telstra acquired unified communications and contact centre integrator NSC in 2013, 2 Networks in January 2014, and Queensland-based systems integrator Bridgepoint in October 2014.
“We have watched and worked closely with Telstra in their move into ICT services and are keen to become a more integral part of it,” said Kloud managing director Nicki Bowers.
Kloud joins Telstra’s growing Network Applications and Services business.
Telstra in August announced that NAS revenue for the 12 months ending 30 June was up 23 per cent year-on-year.

It was the third consecutive year of revenue growth for NAS, with cloud revenue hitting $286 million in FY15, up from $215 million in FY14.
The biggest growth, however, was in NAS's industry solutions category, with revenue up 41.6 per cent to $636 million.
Telstra invests in Instart Logic
Telstra has made a strategic investment in Palo Alto-based application delivery provider Instart Logic, the company announced today.
The investment was made through Telstra Ventures.
“Given mobility continues to be one of the top trends in the technology space, we are excited to start the year with an investment in Instart Logic,” said Telstra Ventures MD Mark Sherman.
“Their end-to-end application delivery platform combines machine learning for performance and security with a CDN for delivery.
“Instart logic’s platform uses a machine learning based approach to better predict user behaviour, downloading only the relevant aspects of a webpage and enabling users to view and interact with a page before all elements have finished loading. These techniques are highly beneficial in a mobile first world as they can reduce the download size of a typical application by more than 30 per cent.”
