A Bankwest spokesperson has confirmed that a significant outage, which affected ATM and EFTPOS transactions, the bank’s mobile app and online banking platform and its website, has now been resolved.
“A technical issue was resolved late on Monday afternoon after successfully progressing the recovery and restoration of those impacted systems,” a spokesperson said.
“We're continuing to test and closely monitor our systems to ensure they operate as normal. Please stay tuned to our Facebook page for any further updates.”
The bank extended the opening hours of a number of its branches as a result of the outage.
“Bankwest apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused to customers,” the spokesperson said.
The bank earlier described the problem as a “connectivity issue”.
