Exodus Communications announced Thursday that it is acquiring GlobalCenter, a unit of Global Crossing, for $US6.5 billion in stock -- a deal that was initially axed in July.
The deal, which has been approved by both companies' boards of directors, is expected to close in the first quarter of 2001.
Exodus and GlobalCenter are leading providers of Web hosting services to businesses around the globe.
