William Angliss Institute has created a chief information officer position following a review of IT management at the Melbourne-headquartered vocational training organisation.
The move follows the retirement of the Institute’s manager of IT services.
“The repositioning of this role to CIO emphasises the Institute’s need for strong leadership at a senior level and a long term, strategic approach to our information technology and services,” director corporate and student services, Wayne Box, told Computerworld.
“As an Institute, we pride ourselves on our strong links with industry and training students to be work-ready on graduation. A learning environment with up to date tools and practices enables students to build sought-after skills and get into rewarding work.”
The CIO will be based in Melbourne and report to Box.
William Angliss Institute is a specialist hospitality, tourism and culinary arts vocational training organisation. About 18,000 students enrol in its courses every year, according to the Institute.
In addition to its Melbourne campus, the organisation has offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, as well as four joint-venture campuses in China and a number of international consultancy projects.
William Angliss Institute is currently seeking to fill the new CIO position, with applications closing on 19 September.
